The ASDA Store

Now in NAiW's opinion this development will mark a watershed for the Ware Town.  In the past the town's integrity as a market town with values and architecture to match has been successfully preserved by the residents and the Town Councils over the many years.

Asda have moved a long way from the hideous design they originally proposed and this is more in keeping with the feel of the town - however there is still no hiding that this is an ASDA store with their BRIGHT GREEN SIGNS to greet you!

Allow this development to be built and you will be signing the death warrant for most of the shops along the High Street.  DO NOT argue in years to come that Ware has lost its character, is less attractive and consequently less desirable to visit and to live, if this is allowed to go ahead!

Asda's ambition will be to get as many people through it's doors as possible, it does not care about the location or the community, it wants somewhere it can compete with Tesco in the local area and thinks that Ware is a soft target.  They do not want you to shop in the town or to use their car parks to venture into town and will try their hardest through the design and layout of the store to persuade you not to.
